In a piece of news today that will make most gamers cry Rockstar have announced the Grand Theft Auto 4 will not be out this year instead it will come out in there 2nd quarter fiscal year which is sometime after the 1st of February.
In a statement Take 2 Ben Feder said “Obviously, we are very disappointed to reduce guidance after having previously reaffirmed it,” he went on to say that “Other than a matter of timing, the movement of Grand Theft Auto IV does not compromise Take Two in any way.”
So it looks like the move is so they can work more on there game and also have a strong start to there second fiscal year with Take 2 taking a financial hit this year with most of there board quiting and Manhunt 2 getting banned
It seems that HMV, Game and Play.com have done something a little cheeky and have announced that they plan to sell the Xbox 360 Elite at only 329.99 GBP, thats only 50 pounds more than the premium pack and they have also said that it will be out on the 24th August.
The Elite was released in american about a month ago and it retails at $479 (240 pounds) and it has sold really well however the move by these three companies to sell it for just 50 pounds more seems like a good move to get more people to buy the 360.
The elite comes boxed with a 120gb hard drive, a HDMI output port and incased in a lovly black casing with peripherals to match and will be out on the 24th August.
Lets hope that they have fixed the problems that the 360 is having at the moment and we should’nt see alot of elites having to be fixed because of the red ring of death.
So it has come down to the best game at this years E3 and it was a hard choice as there were a lot of good games however in my eyes there was one that shone more than any other game, there was one that impressed me even more, there was one that stood higher than anything else, there was one… OK I’m going to stop there and tell you what it is.
Lady’s and Gentlemen i give the best game at E3 (drum roll please) Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
Now it’s a bit pointless telling you what the game is about but i will say that this time it isn’t set in world war two this time it’s set in present time and has a shit load more action that the other Call of Duty games.
So what the hell impressed me more than any other game well it was the fact that the developers saw that it was time for a change to the series and instead of doing a EA and release another Medal of Honor game in world war two they decided to set it in our times thus breathing new life into the series.
On top of all of this the graphics blew me away as they showed what can be done on next generation consoles.
So if watching the trailer and seeing the many screenshots of the game hasn’t impressed you then you need to stop laying video games now as you are no longer welcome in the video game fold.
Now in my eyes Microsoft’s E3 press conference was the worst out of the 3 as it didn’t show anything that we didn’t know about and there was very little in the way of surprises however there were a few stand out games at there event including my choice for there best at E3 Project Gotham Racing 4.
While it’s just another racing game on the 360 PGR4 stands out for a few reason those being that it looks absolutely gorgeous, it has some fantastic weather effects that determine how you race on the tracks that are available and finally the ability to race bikes as well as cars.
The game will be out in September as Microsoft only showed games at there press conference that are going to be out this year apart from Resident Evil 5.
Again with the PS3 game the trailer for PGR4 is below so leave a comment to tell us what you think and if you also think that my choice is wrong and what you would of picked.
By far in my eyes the game of E3 had to be Infinity Wards Call of Duty 4, the game itself is a big departure from the call of duty series as this time it’s set in the present time instead of being just another world war 2 first person shooter and by doing this it has added new life into the series.
As you can see from the following trailer this is going to be a hard game to top as the game of E3 and I’m mostly looking forward to this rather than Halo 3 which didn’t impress me.
Because we didn’t cover Microsoft’s E3 press conference (sorry for that) we do have a trailer that shows off some of the games that will be gracing the console this year, so enjoy
